Maybe not that sad. Clio and Micra are supposed to be good cars and there was mention of a 3 cylinder. I just hope it doesn't look like a re-badged Nissan.
Ha! We're getting conflicting reports from Mitsubishi. Just a week or 2 ago, they said we should not expect to see platform sharing between the companies until after 2020:
Thread: Mitsu's goal: boost US sales by 30% -- no rebadged Nissans in the near future
That would suggest the next gen Mirage will be on its own platform since it's due out in the next year or 2.
Of course it would be much quicker to just slap some new fenders and bumpers on the existing Nissan/Renault platform which is already in production.

Judging from the little information so far I'm betting it will look exactly like a rebadged Nissan.
Likely this was the plan from the beginning.
Will weld for beer.

I drove a Smart Fortwo with a Renault three-cylinder turbo and it was a hoot. I also really like the Micra. However, as someone else mentioned, this is conflicting info.
Just dont know how reliable them engines are.
Maybe the mirage with that turbo 3 wouldnt be too bad if it were reliable.

"Renault"....pronounced "run-no". Thanks, but no thanks!
I think it's pronounced 're no' with a short e. I'll say that, but not much else. Yesterday, I ordered the pork sandwich off the French menu in the French restaurant. Won't say those Italian coffee sizes in Starbucks either. Used to annoy the baristas, but so many people have taken to calling the sizes s-m-l that they're used to it.
