Other than the Chevette, I can't think of anyone flocking to buy a small BowTie. It seems that people who buy Chevys want BIG.

Here are US sales for 2022 Q1...
Source
US Mirage sales are down 29% for Q1 vs 2021. Is this supply-related?
Outlander sales are exploding, while Outlander Sport sales are crashing.
Chevrolet sold more than 1 million Cobalts in the 7 years they were produced (2005-2011). I had a Pontiac G5 XFE (Pontiac's version of the Coblat) before I bought my Mirage.

1st quarter 2021 US Mirage sales were 6,932. Hard to sell something that's not in stock in some places, or are the lack of incentives/rebates impacting sales?
It's not like the competition has become stiffer these past few years.
Mitsubishi sales (all models) has average 0.65% of the U.S. market the past 5-years. I only looked back as far as 2005, and Mitsubishi never made it to 1% since 2005 in the U.S.

I've seen way more Eclipse Cross & Outlander vehicles in stock & much fewer Outlander Sports & Mirages in stock.
Sales would have to reflect that somewhat!
Even White Bear that has held the title of selling the most Outlander Sports in the country some years, has more Eclipse Cross & Outlanders in stock. Some dealers have very few to none Outlander Sports.
Back in the early-mid '90s, I badly wanted a Honda Civic VX (hatch). But couldn't afford one due to being a poor college kid at that time. Since original owners sold those cars, they moved into the hands of the Fast N Furious types (who didn't know what a VX was) and now they're mostly all complete crap.

Yep, the VX was an amazing car. Honda really let its engineers loose to pursue efficiency on a couple of cars, the VX and the original Insight being the prime examples. The VX was sort of the Insight's predecessor, in the sense that its lean burn technology was later a big part of how the Insight was capable of amazing numbers.
My favourite VX-drivetrain Civic (slightly modified for better MPG):
