Lug nut covers

I took off my hub caps today and I like the look. My concern is the lug nuts rusting much faster. Has anyone found lug nut covers that fit? I've done a little research but it seems like I might be guessing on a purchase so part numbers would be great.

You can use 'acorn style' lug nuts on the wheels and it should solve the problem. I do this every winter when I put my snow wheels on, which are stock steelies under stock hubcaps. I use the nuts from my alloys.

If you want new ones go with the Dorman 611-141. They are a near-perfect match for the stock ES lug nuts. I got a set of 20 on Ebay for about $30.

I tried several different types before I found these. Most were far too LONG. As you can see in the chart, the Dorman 611-141 is about 26mm long, or just over 1". This is perfect, and is identical to the stock nuts.

The others listed are 1.4" long, or 36mm. They stuck out way too far from the wheels, and looked silly. Like they were meant for a pickup truck or something.

The lugnuts I'm using are that long...but I have aftermarket wheels. They would look funky on steel wheels for sure.

Just to clarify i have a 17 mirage and the stock lug nuts are open topped which exposes the stud threads. Are you saying these lug nuts can replace the open top ones and fully cover the stud threads? If so that would certainly solve my problem.

Weird.. my 17' doesn't have open lugs. Does anyone else have open lugs? This doesn't sound factory to me.

Yeah just get aftermarket acorn lugs.
