2014 Mitsubishi Mirage 40 MPG Gas Mileage Test (GreenCarReports.com)
John Voelcker of Green Car Reports / High Gear Media has filed his initial review of the Mirage already, but he saved his fuel economy observations for this GCR report which just came out.
His comments are presumably for the CVT-equipped Mirage:
We recently spent a day in Quebec City driving two different 2014 Mirages in a variety of urban, rural, and highway uses, covering more than 80 miles [129 km] all told.
Over that distance, including some hard driving, we logged gas-mileage readouts of 43.3 mpg and 44.1 mpg [5.4 and 5.3 L/100km] -- meaning that the Mirage may actually overachieve on its ratings.
The piece also includes a summary of his comments previously posted in the Car Connection review, where he repeats his criticism of:
the car's "dead spot" in on-center steering
soft suspension/too much body roll for his liking
Despite it being a "Green Car" report, he ends the review by saying those issues make the car less enjoyable to drive, so he'd choose a Chevy Spark instead, despite the Spark's lower MPG ratings.
