Rostra Cruise Control Kit - Part # 250-9633
175/65-14 82T Falken Sincera SN250 AS All-Season (80k mile warranty - Replaced at 78k miles)
175/65-14 Hankook Optimo H724 (70k mile warranty - Currently in use)
207k miles
The used AC compressor I recently installed at 197k miles started making some strange noises a few days ago. Well, now I am lucky if I can get 80 degree vent temps. I verified my pressure is fine and that the clutch is engaging.
The good news is, the thing came with a 6 month warranty.
The bad news is, I called LKQ and they won't have be a replacement AC compressor until Tuesday.
I'll be driving around with plenty of bottles of frozen water until then. Fortunately it isn't too hot outside today. The current temperature is only 92 degrees outside.
Bummer - but glad you have warranty.
Did you document the DIY compressor replacement? Seems it might be a useful thing to have. Not the first Mirage compressor to go.
PS: hey - you're only a couple of degrees hotter than here!

PPS: this is a great vehicle history thread.

I would like to second that! When I started considering a Mirage last summer, this forum was a huge help. Members like Fummins sharing his experience with an entire fleet of Mirages was wonderful!
This thread is also great! Anyone owning a Mirage with a manual should be interested in this thread especially.
Even though the Mirage comes with a great warranty, having your new car in the shop is that last thing you want. For those of us that live a distance from a Mitsubishi dealer, these threads are reassuring! Thank you!!!

It sure has been rough driving around with no AC.
The replacement AC compressor arrived at LKQ today. To do the warranty swap, I had to bring in the old compressor for an even exchange.
My local LKQ closes at 5 pm. I got home from work today at 4:13 pm. I immediately went to work evacuating the system and pulling the compressor from the car. I had the compressor removed by 4:35 pm and was on my happy little way to LKQ. I made it to LKQ at 4:45 pm, got an exchange compressor that only has 22k miles, and at 4:55 pm I was on my merry little way back home.
At 5:05 pm, I made it home, thanked my dad for bringing me to the junk yard and proceeded to go inside for some dinner and nice cold house AC. After dinner, I watched a few episodes of Married With Children and took a nap. One has to wonder if Al Bundy had air conditioning in his car.
Anyway, I then took a nap and woke up around 10 pm to go outside and finish the job. I wasn't in a rush so I was able to take my time bolting things up, vacuuming the system, tightening the serpentine belt and of course recharging the system.
Our systems only take 10 ounces of r134a so doing the charge from a 12 ounce can is virtually worry free. Once the system was blowing 55 degree vent temps at 2k rpm I took off the can of r134a and went for a drive.
I now have 42 degree vent temperatures on the highway. Tomorrow is going to be a nice day.

I thought I had decent miles on my '14, but you have nearly double mine. Hows your suspension? My shocks and struts are blown out and it makes me crazy... I want the new stuff off a wrecked 17 badly.

I guess I might as well start documenting oil changes. Getting a free oil change, free hot chocolate and some munchies.

Getting the tires rotated and putting another Techron treatment in the tank this afternoon.
One of the tires has a very small leak. I asked the guys at Wal-Mart to see if they can fix it. I could take care of the leak myself, but at $10 for flat repair, it's a no brainer since I'm already here.
