Called it "Rust" :-D
I think he's having Fiat Panda flashbacks.

My dear fellow, I'm English (British) and I have never purchased a French car, I had a severe stiffy for a Renault 4 donkey's years ago but the old woman went into one as we had young children then so ended up with a Ford Cortina Mk3. If I won a raffle's top prize and it was a Peugeot (any Peugeot) I'd give it a Linford Christie, (that's a runner, a long quick runner away from it) I don't want a Peugeot, I'd gallantly ask for the booby prize instead. Agincourt and all that, don't like Brie either.
I thought I would ask, because Mitsubishi has merged with Renault/Nissan. How that impacts Mitsubishi is still very unclear & only speculative?
I don't have a high regard for Renault myself, but that is purely base on a subjective opinion of them. I don't sense the Renault merger has made Nissan a better company, but once again that is somewhat subjective on my part.
What little I know of the UK automotive market, I may have compared some of the Suzuki products to the Mirage. Even then, the Mirage may have come out ahead. Our options for small economy cars in the U.S. are very limited. Ford sold over 900,000 F-150 pickup trucks last year. Our market is driven by numbers like that!
It's nice getting your input on this things. I have a daughter that live in Helsinki. Her husband & her own/drive an older Fiat Punto. It was bought from a relative, & it is shared with her in-laws and sister-in-law. People in general drive small cars there or use public transportation.
That French/British thing has never disappeared apparently, but we have been warned to not talk politics here!
Thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
Oops, me an free speech and all that, I'll curb my thoughts.
If you know the Nissan Note I was actually looking for one but they have a Renault engine (1.2 litre) which I just don't want hence the Mitzi. I don't like French cars period, never had one, never will. I miss the traditional British cars, Austin, Wolseley, Riley, Hillman et al. Many of which I've had, Mini's, a dream car, like a go kart. Had British motorbikes too, BSA 650, Matchless and an old Ariel 250cc my favourite apart from the Vincent Black Knight, couldn't afford one then let alone now.
You're good! I was speaking for myself! It's ok to say you don't like French, German, American, or whatever cars. It's a global market, however. Those terms don't mean as much any more. My neighbor has a Mini, and one of my work colleagues has two. Fun car to drive, but I wouldn't own one. They are not easy to work on from what I have heard & expensive to repair here.

( ^ PS: not permanently. Unplug the questionable OBD-II device and the problems go away. )

Agincourt! Those French dandies couldnt handle English longbowmen! Couldnt defeat Nelson at the Nile nor Arthur Wellesley at Waterloo. Queen Anne's war, War of Spanish Succession, French and Indian War, Napoleonic Wars, all defeats for the French. In fact I can scarcely come up with any French victories over Britannia. Theres was the hundred years war, but that took France a hundred years to kick the English out. My point is Renault is subsidized by a country that loses on a consistent basis in everything. Japan only lost one war and win at everything else including manufacturing. Germany, only lost two! I believe the French government owns a large share of Renault, I hardly find that inspiring.
