This commercial was considered absurd during the 2010 Super Bowl, and is more than a little ironic given VW's later troubles. But Seattle actually DID have people going through residents' garbage, making sure there was nothing that could be composted. Seattle was sued, and the ordinance went away.

Still one of my all-time favorite Super Bowl commercials!

That's no joke! Search for something on Google, and every website you visit for the next three days will feature ads for whatever you searched for.

Cobrajet, I hope you are right. Because I really like and appreciate the conveniences we have and enjoy in this world, and would not want to lose them. At least that's what I think it boils down to.

I always thought it was from that tracking chip in my head?
I have had some adds pop that had me thinking my phone was bugged. More than once I've had adds(not just from this site), show up that had items I was just having a conversation about and never looked up on the googles ever. I'm sure I've got some apps that have access to my microphone or something stupid like that though. Time to put on my tinfoil hat, cape and run around with my underwear on the outside of my pantaloons

We should certainly be good stewards of the planet. But I have simply been hearing the end-of-days global warming chant for far too long to take it seriously anymore.

You do, and Android phones are among the worst offenders.

'Smart' phones are very sophisticated spying devices.

The problem is when warming becomes too obvious to ignore, it will take a tremendous change in our way of life in order to stop the man-made climate change. And no one is willing to change how they live. I get it.

This year Lake Erie is at historic high level.

I get the PCness of this topic, but are you a climate scientist?

It's like people who have opinions about immunization, but they've only got their grade 10.

I say leave the expert's work to the experts, we're just amateurs. With loud opinions.

Your liberty isn't in jeopardy from climate change facts.

Climate change is real, whether we're in a 4.5 billion year cycle or not, pumping carbon into the atmosphere via cutting down trees, making concrete, and driving obnixious gas guzzlers. We're screwing the world for the whales, and I like whales more than people.
