today when i started the car i let go of the key too early and the engine immediately died. doing what any great idiot would do i immediately tried to start it again. That didnt work. Then i tried to do the flood start mode thing by holding the gas pedal down before cranking also no luck(this is video 1). Then i waited two minutes and tried again. this time i held the gas pedal all the way down then half way down, then with the gas pedal half way depressed it started(this is video two). i dont actually know how flood start mode works so im not sure if fully depressed vs half depressed makes a difference.
On a side note for what i believe is the OEM battery this did about of great cranking in minus 14c weather, i wish i had bought the push to start model.
I should probably start cranking for a little longer, i know the starter is suppose to have some over rev/over crank fail safe thingy but i always try to let go of the key faster.
I also tried to drive off with the steering wheel lock shown in the video still attached. This was the day i got the covid booster shot so this is probably just the autism setting in.
