Yea and the USA had Mitsubishi appliances like tv's back in the 1980s. My grandpa had a piper tripacer and I even have the engine manual still, and the used Piper plane used to terrify my aunt and mom apparently

A good friend of mine worked in a small Ontario town called Midland and that's where the Mitsubishi cathode ray television tube factory for all of the western hemisphere was located. IIRC Mits made the largest consumer 4:3 TV tube. It was either 29, 31, or 33"
sony had a larger trinitron but I think it was 16:9

Midland eh, and Allison, Ontario has built how many Honda Civic's and Honda motors. I am not surprised about past Mitsubishi manufacturing in Ontario. Not surprised one bit. That is interesting, and I bet they were good-sized TV's for their time.

They were excellent tvs. Mitsubishi had a trinitron like approach and they called it Diamond Vision. I owned a 20" Mitsubishi tv and was really sad to part with it. Those were the days. You had all the major Japanese electronics firms making tvs: Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Sanyo, Mitsubishi, JVC, Sharp and occasionally Phillips.

I have a 2019 Limited Edition Hatch, replaced my wrecked '17 G4 SE. I miss some of the gadgets the G4 had but the LE has the required heated seats, I live in a condo building with off street but open parking, and the alloys instead of those dollar store wheel covers.
I used to have a Mitsubishi TV from the 80's... a 46" projection set. It lasted a long LONG time. Finally died back in 2012.
Always lusted after that 40" CRT tv they made. It was like the best of the best in the early 90's. Mitsubishi made the best television sets back then bar none.
