SUBJECT: SHIFT SHOCK WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR AFTER A COMPLETE STOP
PURPOSE On certain Mirage and Mirage G4 vehicles with CVT transmissions, drivers may experience shift shock in the following conditions:
Condition 1: When coming to a stop.
Condition 2: After coming to a complete stop with the transmission in the D range.
The first condition may be caused by improper timing of the torque converter clutch disengagement.
The second condition may be due to improper CVT clutch engagement control, causing the driver to experience shift shock when the CVT clutch is re-engaged.
This TSB instructs dealers to reprogram the CVT ECU with updated software to optimize the torque converter or CVT clutch engagement control to minimize shift shock.
AFFECTED VEHICLES The following vehicles equipped with CVT transmissions may exhibit one or both shift shock conditions:
Condition Model Model Year Affected VIN Range Starting VIN Affected VIN Range - Ending VIN 1 & 2 Mirage 2014 All All 1 & 2 Mirage 2015 All All 2 Mirage 2017 Beginning of Production ML32A3HJ2HH020447 2 Mirage G4 2017 Beginning of Production ML32F3FJ9HHF19303
As I find other TSBs related to the CVT, I'll either include them in this post or as a separate post in this thread. I'll try to keep things organized here.![]()
