Due to space limitations I haven't heard of anyone (other than rally teams with huge budgets) try to cram a 4 cylinder in a Mirage. With the narrow engine bay it would take a bunch of modification, definitely not a bolt in. The Mitsubishi 3.0 liter V6 from the Outlander might be a easier fit (same length as the inline 3 cylinder, just wider due to the V configuration).

There have been some 4 cylinder swaps. I've seen a 4G63T swap. Most of the information is from the Philippines and I'm unable to search for it.
But if you LS1 swap, put the engine in the back seats to make it mid engine.

The 4cyl swaps that I’ve seen looked like they cut the front of the car off at the firewall and grafted the entire inner structure from the donor car. Made custom mounts for the body panels.

I’d like to swap my 1.2l for a 1.0l…
That’s probably the only drop in available

The 4G15T came in the Colt and would probably fit.
