Sorry for your bad luck there Dirk. Not sure, take it easy with your Mirage the next few days, you're probably worrying too much. Or overthinking the whole event and thinking of scenarios. Nothing to worry about.
Alternator issue is when your lights go dim and stuff. My whole right side of my console doesn't even light up at night anymore half the time. If you tap it my orange console lights comes back on. I wouldn't worry, pretty sure even cranking the HVAC in my Mirage will dim the interior lights. Like for a second.
I bought the ES eh, so only have 2 keys, no fob at all... I have locked my keys in my car, 3 times and had to get roadside.. even though there are no less than 5 doors to lock manually on my Mirage. My Mirage was off in my case.
I have seen the Mirage start up in -40 weather on youtube. So I warm up my Mirage for about 5 to 10 minutes as I scrape all the ice and snow off my car, blast the defrost... my Mirage starts at 3 F with no plugging it in.
My neighbour spends so much time warming his truck I think he is a baby lol and what is wrong with the truck if it takes an hour to warm it.
