Good evening fellow Mirage owners, this just happened to me, after 9 years of ownership and 200k kms(about 124k mi) both rear attachment points on the front crossmember snapped from the chassis. There was considerable amount of rust on the bolt threads, but it was not noticeable from the outside in previews inspections, so I guess it rusted from inside out like mentioned before. Tropical climate in my country, no snow whatsoever, but plenty of rain.

2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, GLS trim. 3A92 engine, manual transmission.

Wow, that looks torn more than it is rusted out. Insanely rough roads over there? I've never seen that happen before.

I agree with Fummins... It looks more like the mount point was torn out - work fatigued metal? Doesn't look like a rust-out situation.

I've seen a lot of older, rusty Infiniti G-whatervers lately (the sedan & coupe with the Z drivetrain, I think.)

There are plenty of these cars in Europe, but I have never noticed a single one with a rust problem!
Mine is from 2014 and as far as rust goes, it is practically in mint condition. As a new car it was cavity-waxed with two rattle cans, and the underside, axle bodies and exhaust was undercoated and painted with the same sort of paint as used for ships and bridges. Easy to do and totally worth it.

Sounds like it! I'm surprised that stuff lasts on the exhaust from the heat of the exhaust pipe...
