    How many miles l have accumulated on trip B....l can only make it to 240 if l shift at 4,000rpm...or l can make it to 280 if l shift from 2,000-3,000rpm...l then divide by the miles+tank...so 280/9.2=30...like you said l probably can run the tank until the light starts flashing.

    Yeah, l also pondered the possibility of it sticking then l'd be really screwed.

    That is not mpg at all.

    You never use 9.2 gallons to calculate your mpg unless you literally ran your car dry.

    Well, glad that's cleared up...Shouldn't l be able to make it 310 miles before l have to fill up? 310/9.2=33...maybe l'm crazy :/
