Well, you know it had to happen. A dealer in TN decided this was a good idea.

Not in a million years would I pay such a thing. But if there is someone that will, I don't blame the dealer. I put myself in their shoes. They are there to make profit. As much profit as they can. As long as it is done ethically. As long as they're not pointing a gun to a customer's head, it's a customer's choice.
A neighbor across the street from my dad's house just spent about $60,000 more than they should have for that house. But she was freshly divorced, needed a place, and this house was freshly flipped from a complete disaster to being, "cute."
I believe in the statement, "it's worth as much as a person is willing to pay for it." Buyers should educate themeselves.

thedrive.com covered it too:
https://www.thedrive.com/news/41713/...alership-storyDealer’s $5,995 Markup on a Mitsubishi Mirage Will Make You Scream
That's a nearly 33 percent increase on what's normally a super-cheap car.

Whew...pay an extra $5995 and you still get plastic wheel covers.
Whatever happened to the "Free tank of gas" on the window sticker?!?
From the Jalopnik article...
I reached out to the dealer to get clarification on pricing and was given the runaround. They wouldn’t tell me the price. Instead, opting for continuously asking me how they could contact me to follow up. As my colleague Tom McParland noted — and as I can personally attest to — Mitsubishi dealers are notorious for dodging price quotes.

you have all the premium specs but in exchange you get the donut, here since they localized the production of mirage donut tires become a thing of the past, but i like the ASTC and curtain airbag more than the mags.
What a joke. The dealerships in Georgia all have low inventory but aren't price gouging this bad at all. I feel terrible for anyone who can't hold out for another year or 2.
There are no more cheap cars?

Right now, a used Mirage is up 52.3 percent, or close to $5,000, from what it would have cost last year.
That brings the average price for a used Mirage to $14,404.
Here's the most outrageous used Mirage I can find right now. This green 2014 DE (base model) with 100K miles is $11,000?!? And they don't even have pictures of it on their website yet. So it appears that someone possibly is in the process of buying this thing and they haven't even seen it yet?!?
