Yah, the usual "worst car ever" comments.

"...These are for people with no idea what they are buying. "
This is irrationally irritating to me. I love how everyone who wants to buy a reliable, cheap car, has no idea what constitutes as a "sensible" purchase. I can understand the "you can get more value from a used Honda or Toyota" argument, but these suggestions about Kia's and Hyundai's... I thought these weren't as reliable in the long run?
I don't need validation about what cars I'm interested in, but it saddens me that it's the same old tired argument over and over again. We are so spoiled with the options available on the market today. It does make me happy to see at least neutrally OBJECTIVE reviews about vehicles in general.

10 years ago I never thought I'd ever be on this side of the fence. Driving one of the least masculine, cheap, slow, low-powered, ridiculously fuel-efficient, reliable cars that is on the market. Thank jebus that I grew out the "imports are all junk that will burn oil and rust away shortly after warranty is up" mentality. That is obviously not the case, at least not for this sadly misunderstood turdmobile.
I get that it's a dorkmobile I couldn't care less. If you care what people think of you then you need to drive one of these things for two weeks. You'll stop caring. I haven't showered in 2 months, and sometimes I swear at random strangers for no reason...Everyone should try it.
I think I lost where I was going there.

Hey...that article sounds a lot like the same talking points we've all been using since 2014.

The comments section remind me of my old co-workers (truck owners). "Why would get a car like that?" They'd spew out the craziest things; basically personal preferences on why they love their trucks. I didnt discourage trucks or truck owners, haha. But then, I see them on the computer looking for Civics, Corollas, Camrys, etc. I asked my co-worker why they're looking at those cars and he muttered "gotta get something that saves some gas and easier to work on".
Pretty entertaining article though.

If Mitsubishi lots were full of slightly discounted Mirages ($12,000-$14,000) that required about $1,000 extra to push them out the door, the Mirage would have record sales right now. I think it would become Mitsubishi's top selling vehicle in the States.
The Mirage needs to have a price point that makes consumers questions the purchase of a used car. I'm not sure prices north of $15,000 does that as well (not saying it's not attractive to some).
I realize vehicle prices are super inflated at the moment, but Mitsubishi could be selling boat loads of these vehicles if they marketed them better. Their dealership network is their biggest hindrance in my opinion. I shouldn't have had to buy one from 4 hours away to get a decent deal on one. Some have gone much farther than me to buy one even though several dealers are closer to them.
Bergstrom Automotive is the largest dealership in Wisconsin (36 different brands). I haven't seen them list a Mirage for quite some time (months not days). They cover a huge auto market of the Fox Valley (Appleton, Neenah, Menasha), Milwaukee, & Green Bay mostly. Yet not one Mirage is in their lot for sale. I find that a bit lame!
$4-5/gallon is not going to change the driving landscape, but it makes me appreciate my little paid off Mirage a bit more. I feel like I am saving money every time I get in my Mirage regardless of the price of gas. I like that feeling!
