Hi everyone,
I have a 2018 mirage and I decided to purchase Vison Cross 14" wheels to remount my stock Dunlop tires on to. I had a reputable tire shop perform the work. Since the car only had 10K miles on it, the tire guy said it would be ok to use the OEM TPMS sensors. The sensors are the type that are held in place with a rubber barb that is molded as part of the valve stem. In two days, I had two instances where the valve stem developed a significant air leak between the valve stem and the wheel, which caused the tire to go flat at highway speeds. The tire shop determined that one could actually push the valve stem INTO the wheel even though the tire had 35 psi of pressure! The fix was to install better quality sensors in the wheel that utilize a back-up nut which keeps the sensor solidly in place. Stay tuned. I'll let you guys know if I experience any more issues.
