Question: How do you get rid of the new car smell?
I don't want to add some other smell, just want to get rid of it because it makes me nauseated.

Just wait! Soon you will have used car smell just by doing nothing! In other words time will knock the "new" out of most everything.

I would suggest several washes. Shampoo the seats and carpets, clean the dash and doors, and hope by the time you get rid of it you haven't grown attached to it I love the new car smell. I even get whiffs of it at work off of my clothes, Love it!

Get some dirt in it and leave the windows open often.

I will second the 'leave the windows open' advice.
When I got my Firefly, it was 7 years old with only 2000 km on the clock. It had been parked ... closed up ... in a garage for 7 years and still had the 'new car' smell inside. It took a while to go away.

Leave work clothes in it for a bit.
I leave my welding leathers in the back.
The clothes absorb the new car smell and leave familiar odors (work).
If you shovel manure or pump sewers for a living, maybe try something else though
Will weld for beer.

I'd put the car in the hottest spot in the sun you can find and leave the windows open for air circulation.
A way to optimize this, would be to first let the windows closed so the temperature increases a lot and then open the windows for exchanging the air, then close the windows again and so on...
The smell is due to solvents and alike being emitted from the surfaces. This is a so called thermally activated process, which is extremely sensitive to temperature. The higher the temperature, the faster the release of molecules. You can thus degas your Mirage with this high temperature treatment. The open windows is to remove the saturated air from the interior, so that new molecules can again be picked up.
But don't expect this to be achieved in a day or so...
good luck!

I lost my new car smell when I accidentally spilled coffee on the passenger seat. The sun baked the old coffee and it smelled horrible. Never smelled new again.
