It looks like Monroe just released their OE Spectrum rear shocks for our hatchback in the US, part number 5558. Just ordered a pair from Advance Auto since I had some points to use. O'Reilley has them listed at $30.99 each.

Did the Monroes fit your car? Everywhere I am checking online gives the "does not fit your 2018 mitsubishi mirage" message
They'll fit. A shock from a 2014 will fit a 2019 and vice versa. I haven't seen a 20-21 model first hand but assume they'd be the same as well.

They did fit my 2014, but the rubber bushings are different from the OE design.
They are definitely firmer than the OE shocks and stop that annoying bounce in the rear. Looks like we have a winner!

*look forward to hearing from Lupine how they fit and ride qualtiy* sorry apparently deleted my message when trying to edit to correct misspelled name.
Glad to hear it. I'll be ordering mine today. So did anyway ever really decide on springs, preferably ones that were more readily available in the US? Like the early 2005 or so Yaris rear springs?
Looks like Advance Auto product page isn't found for the shocks. Rockauto also has them for $26.

Just received the Monroe rear shocks in the mail from Rock Auto. Looking forward to see how the ride quality changes. I have a 2017( purchased 2016) SE hatchback with 87000 miles. Looks like Jegs may have the KYB Excel G’s in stock for the front. Says they ship 12/10 https://www.jegs.com/i/KYB/575/3320043/10002/-1

I just ordered up some of these monroe 5558 shocks for a couple work cars. The shocks aren't leaking but the lower bushings are completely pounded out of them. They bang pretty bad going when going over little bumps. I have already used up my stash of used shocks from wrecks. One car is a 2015, the other a 2017 both with just over 200k kms. Hard kms no doubt.
The one I'm working on right now. The rh rear lower shock bolt is seized to the bushing so I had to cut it off with a sawzall and remove the rest of the bolt from the welded nut with channel locks. Otherwise I would have ground it off and just used a regular nut. The lh shock bolt came out fine, it seems to be the rh side that's always a pita.

Do you know of any aftermarket bushings that would be better at soaking up the bumps? I find the ride on my 2022 is "thumpy" over bumps.
