just fighting with the stealership ... was told when i purchased didn't need oil change until 5k miles (synthetic oil), but now they email me and tell me i need it done now due to our area being severe and lots of heat. (I am at the 3 month mark) ... i'm only 1700 miles so far, but will go get it done as I hear (which i thought was a myth) there could be metal in there due to being new.

Don't want to do anything bad that could ruin the warranty ... in case I need it

I don't know what the USA maintenance schedule looks like. The one for Canada basically says, if you live in Canada you must follow the severe schedule. Extreme cold, heat, short drives, stop and go traffic, dust.

So the regular schedule would be ideal for people who only drive their cars on the highway in magic land where the outside thermostat is set at 70F.

Make sure you don't go with the clutch fluid change if they offer it to you!
