Here in Europe gas prices have stabilised and our CO2 footprint has already decreased more than 40% and will decrease to zero by 2050. We have plenty of homework ahead of us, but a few others haven't even started and are due to a price-shock sometime later. The following picture was taken yesterday.
Since CO2 tax is going up four-fold and mineral-oil tax may even be doubled within the next four years, we will then have to consider this offer as absolutely dirt cheap!
€ 1.829 per litre x 4.3 x 1.21 exchange rate = US $ 9.51 per gallon for normal fuel
€1.949 x 4.3 x 1.21 = $ 10.15 for "supreme" quality
Btw, my electricity bill says 27 Euro cents (32.7 cent US) per every single kW/h, whereby 18 cents of that bill is compulsory surcharges and subsidies of various sorts for the grid, non-fossil energy, such as wind, hydro, photovoltaic, etc etc.
