Rust on the axles? Really? They will last about 20 years even without doing anything against the rust. And I really will do nothing. And if itīs time to buy new axle parts in 15 years, never mind.
foama, you would get an heart attack when seeing the rust on my Daihatsu. The body would have been rusted through with big holes in less than six years without cavity preservation and I only stopped the rust after 5 years.
For me, this little bit of rust shows the excellent rust prevention of Mitsubishi. For 99 % of the drivers, the Space Star is a disposable product, especially considering, the car is one of the cheapest cars available.

The rust on my spacestar (Mirage) axles was about the same as it was on my C1 only a few years ago, and this year the C1 failed safety inspection (HU) because of a rusted-through front axle, and the rear is not much different. Repairing costs more than the 2009 C1 is worth.
If treated early enough, you have one PITA (Schmerz im Arsch) less to rob your sleep.

Three more....
The last pic is after I upgraded my front control arms on my mirage lol. Or it's my Tundra, one of the two. I bought that in feb of 16.....not a speck of rust. Then about 14mo later we got the mirages.

We all appreciate the pics, but I think you went through to much trouble flipping your car upside down (so we could see things better in some of them)?

No problem.
Fluid film goes on kind of opaque-light cream. It depends how its applied and the temp.
If its sprayed under decently high pressure and remotely warm it's clear. Either way it turns clear after a short time when it lays out and creaps into nooks and crannies.
Yes, it collects road debris. Most of the chassis gets a dull look when dust goes over it. Especially on the mirage as its low to the ground. The truck still looks and is wet because its higher off the ground and that location doesnt get touched much by rain spray etc.
Even when you think the fluid film is worn off, its not. You can scrap it with your fingernails and see it's still there.
If you look on their website and the companies and government entities that use it, you will see its held in high regard.
I buy a gallon at a time as it's way cheaper that way. But I also buy a few aerosol cans for touch ups.
