Having a cable will give a vehicle really good throttle response, whatever the driver does to the gas pedal will immediately be translated to the throttle body. practically all new vehicles now a days are drive-by-wire, meaning that there is now direct linkage between the gas pedal and the throttle body. its all done through sensors and computers. when you step on the gas pedal the sensor in the pedal transmits a signal to the computer and the computer will take that information and relay it to the mechanism on the throttle body to open up to whatever the signal was. In vehicles that are not performance oriented, the throttle response can have a slight delay from when you press or lift on the gas pedal to when the throttle body actually opens or closes. you wont have that with a cable linked throttle
