Got a set of 15" Mini wheels & tires for $100!

Found them on Craigslist... Cool guy with a vintage car dealership who also does work on European cars wanted to empty his small warehouse. The tires are a bit big (185/60) but the wheel offset is perfect, so no issues there (although the car stands a bit higher, but I'm okay with that).

I like how they look, like a factory item, and they fit the Mirage's style pretty well, in my opinion. They drive great, are perfectly balanced, and don't rub at all. These are keepers! Eventually, when I need to change tires, I'll go down to 175/55-15 (like the factory GT).

They look good. Nice match for the car.
You mentioned offset. Could you throw up a pic of the car from front/back to show the new stance?
    Helluva deal though.. Nice.
    Will weld for beer.

Looks great. I really like the looks of alloy rims from the Mini Coopers, and this is at least the second Mirage on the forum with Mini wheels. Thanks for posting a picture too. More pictures please.

    Nice find!

For anyone interested, more details on those wheels (specs, weight, offset, etc.) can be found here.

175-55-15 is the default choice as it is identical in diameter to 14” Enasaves and is used on Mirage GT models. Unfortunately, the selection of 175-55-15 tires is just as bad as the selection of 165-65-14's. I think Tire Rack shows 1 all-season Low Rolling Resistance tire in this size.

Consider a 185-55-15 instead. This tire has been used on the Aveo, Spark, Fit, Fiat 500 and Mazda2. You will find a much larger selection of this size tire. It's 1/2 inch taller than a 165-65-14, so your speedometer will read 2.5% slow (you can't tell driving the car). I've been running a LRR tire in this size for 40K+ miles and they are working out great.

Interesting! Looks good. How much do these weigh? I saw a set for sale locally for $150 and considered picking them up.

They're known for being very light, around 12 lbs. if I recall correctly. They're sought after because of that, in part. Also, being BMW rims, they're very strong.
