CVT drive belt replacement cost and life expectancy

anywone now what it wil cost to replace the drivechain from the cvt when it fails?
i see some videos from CVT cars also from other brands that tent to overheat and one video on youtube from teh mirage where the CVT also got some problems.

will it last 100.000km or 200.000? and what will it cost?

Keep in mind that the CVT is not serviceable. Meaning, you cannot replace the belt alone, you have to replace the whole unit if it fails. Once you open the CVT casing, it is no longer functional. Or at least this is what CVT manufacturers tell consumers.

Also, the belt is usually not what fails on the CVT. The belt is steel and is pretty darned stout and durable. Its usually the solenoid that controls the hydraulic pressure for the torque converter, the input pulley, and the mechanism that shifts the trans from R, N, and D. This solenoid has a name, but it escapes me at the moment.

Yes, you have to replace the entire unit if that solenoid fails as it is integrated into the CVT and is not serviceable on its own. I have no idea how much it will cost to replace, but prices range from $1800-2600 for a CVT by itself with no installation. That is USD.

and that is for larger cars i geuss? this sigment cars normally dont have a cvt so maybe 1500 ?

mmm i am contemplating on a yaris HSD and that drive train would last a milj km or even miles before anything would fail.
( beside the battery, just talking about the drivetrain )
