3342 Mirages sold Jan-March this year. Compare to 4917 last year, same timeframe.
That's a 32% drop. How is that possible?
Gotta hope this is a result of supply constraints.
Overall, Mitsu sales were down in Q1 compared to last year:

For comparison...
- Nissan moved 3901 Versas in Q1
- GM moved 150 Sparks (discontinued)
Too lazy to look up Rio/Accent numbers.

Could be lack of manual gearbox making some people move on to a different car?

I don't like to kick anyone when they are down, but the Eclipse Cross has had terrible sales numbers. For a new model, Mitsubishi really missed the mark with this vehicle.
Eclipse Cross sales
2018 = 9,485
2019 = 19,661
2020 = 10,319
2021 = 8,946
2022 = 10,717
I haven't been in a Mitsubishi showroom since the summer of 2018. I sat in the Outlander & the Outlander Sport while some air bag recall work was being done on my Mirage. The Eclipse was a brand new model at the time, & I had no serious interest in it. A 1.5L turbo that looked a little bit like a Pontiac Aztec - no thank you! There's nothing redeeming/special about the Eclipse Cross powertrain (horsepower or economy).
If a Outlander Sport AWD manual existed at some point, I would probably own one. I would like the Outlander Sport FWD manual, but it doesn't really compliment my AWD Forester as well. Thus, I passed on vehicles like it & the KIA Soul. My Mirage excels in areas my Forester doesn't, & likewise my Forester excels in areas my Mirage doesn't.
I have always liked the size & looks of the Outlander Sport. Compared to the sales of the Eclipse Cross, I may not be the only one who feels that way? The old model (OS) has always outsold the new one (EC).
Outlander Sport sales
2010 1,690
2011 16,443
2012 19,466
2013 24,951
2014 31,054
2015 36,966
2016 33,067
2017 33,160
2018 36,867
2019 26,144
2020 28,835
2021 34,214
2022 16,374
For those who own an Eclipse Cross, I don't think it's a bad vehicle. Personally, I just find the OS more appealing.

Entirely speculation, but as an entry-level car perhaps inflation is having an effect on working-class people being able to afford to buy a new car? One would have to look at entry level car sales overall in order to sus it out, but speaking from a personal perspective, inflation has been wreaking havoc with my finances. I even recently sold my truck, which broke my heart.
