Trust Jalopnik to ponder life's mysteries...
Who Bought All These Chevy Sparks And Mitsubishi Mirages In March?
(79 comments on that article so far.)Some of it is definitely fleet sales. GM readily admitted the Spark's retail sales were only up 17 percent in March. Who knows where Mitsubishi is sending these Mirages, as I've only seen a few so far.
AHA! That explain's Spark's record month.

I think a Mirage would make a good city car but also a good little "out-in-the country scooter" as well. With the gas mileage it gets our trips up to Ruidoso and over to Las Cruces wouldn't cost as much as in the Lancer GTS. I get 24 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway with the Lancer GTS, so not too bad. But this little Mirage looks like it would be a ball to drive and it gets such good gas mileage, that's one of the biggest draws for me to the car.
And I don't think the gas men are going to be lowering gas prices any time soon, either. Unfortunately.
I'm sorry but that's sad. It's been such a boost to Mitsu's sales that the company was up 70 percent last month.
It's not sad at all.
They will clearly sell more than 7000 Mirages this year...they are more than half way to that goal in 4 mos! 8 mos left to go and I think the car is picking up steam and will increase sales...heck gas prises jumped up this week on the east coast! Im thinking of trading my tC in on either a Mirage or a Mazda 2!
Well, if "insurance" against high gas prices is your goal, better to go with the best-in-class car (non-hybrid) than nearly the worst-in-class one!
