Looks like 47390 total US sales to date. I wonder how many first generations they have left for sale in the US? Nice to know I'm a member of such an exclusive group.

Based on the wicki which states there are 255 million registered vehicles in the USA, the Mirage constitutes 1/5100 of the vehicle population. This assumes a total population of 50k first gen Mirages.

Eager to see the April numbers. I don't see the mpg scandal effecting too much based on the timing at the later part of the month.
Nice!
That's its 3rd best month in the States. The $3500 rebate effect still playing out, I'm sure.
- Mirage gains 37.2 percent over previous April with 3,302 sales reported
http://media.mitsubishicars.com/rele...harge-in-aprilMirage was the volume sales leader for the month ... "Our CUVs continue to be the sales workhorse for the lineup while the subcompact Mirage demonstrates the need for affordable, reliable, and economical, transportation."

Cool:
http://www.mitsubishi-motors-pr.ca/c...-sales-recordsMitsubishi Motors Shatters all Sales Records
April sales best in company history
Mississauga, ON – May 3, 2016 – Mitsubishi Motors’ saw a dramatic 32 per cent sales increase last month with dealer deliveries of 2,552 vehicles breaking all existing monthly sales records.
352 Mirages delivered. Not a record, but around its 8th best month and above the annual average every year it's been on sale ('13 through '16 so far).
Nissan Micra continues to dominate in Canada -- 930 sold.

Felt compelled to fix that statement.Mirage was the volume sales leader for the month ... "Our CUVs continue to be the sales workhorse for the lineup while the subcompact Mirage demonstrates the need for affordable, reliable, and economical, transportation. WHEN IT'S PRICED RIGHT'"
MetroMPG I'm sure you would have one yourself if/when it were priced right.

Another month has gone by and 2098 more Mirages are on the road in the US. Canada has sold 435. Not the landslide of a couple months ago, but not bad overall.
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block
Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

Also worth noting that Mitsu USA's sales are up 5.6% year over year, while many of the big names posted declines last month.
Maybe not in the US, but those Canadian numbers are pretty decent. Well above the monthly average for all years so far, and 6th or 7th best month overall. Not the landslide of a couple months ago
AND! From the Canadian sales release ... (trumpet blast, please)
http://www.mitsubishi-motors-pr.ca/c...ay-sales-up-65for its first-ever recorded sales, the 2017 Mirage G4 – the all-new sedan which arrived in some western showrooms late in the month, saw nine deliveries; Mirage G4 is now on sales across Canada.
NINE!

Also worth noting...
The Mirage was ahead of the Chevy Spark this year until May. But the redesigned Spark posted excellent sales in May of 3495 (its best month in almost a year), and it re-gained the lead:
Mirage YDT: 11,632
Spark YTD: 11,732
The new Spark looks like it may even challenge the Mirage in Canada. Spark sales were 400 (vs. 435), GM Canada's 2nd best month for that car, ever.

Mitsubishi has been shrinking and shrinking for a long time now in the US. They used to make some really desirable vehicles like the Galant VR4 and the first and 2nd generation Eclipse. For some reason, they lost their touch. It's sad. Now Mitsu is basically a niche market brand. It's almost like they are slowly reverting to what Hyundai was in the 1980's. Cars people buy not because they are highly desirable or best in class, but because they offer good value and are cheaper to buy. I don't think that's a bad thing though. Mitsubishi makes good cars overall and the US desperately needs more affordable choices. I just wish Mitsu would expand their product line. They need to bring back the Eclipse and Galant. It's shocking that they have no midsize sedan. It's one of the hottest and most competitive markets. IMO, Mitsu really needs to hire some new stylists. Visually, the cars just don't stand a chance against the competition. I really want to see them rise out of the ashes and become a hot brand again. If they want to stay niche like what seems to work for Mazda, go for it.
