Fingers crossed.
I'm also going to update the thread title to indicate this can be a warranty issue.

Hmmm...so here's a car with a NEW heater core and there's still a 15 degree difference from side to side?
I don't remember what your original numbers were, but did you notice a significant improvement in the way anything feels?
I'm still wondering if there's really a problem, or is this just the way the heat functions in these cars due to the design of the heater box. A 15 degree difference is pretty close to what I have now. Out of fear of getting stuck with an out-of-warranty expensive repair, I may have mine done even though I'm not confident there's a problem.
So if you want to get the attention of the service manager, just mention that your defroster doesn't work. I'll have to remember that.
I'm assuming the tech didn't test your heater core, but they put that on the work order to keep the Mitsubishi warranty auditors happy.

To tell the truth, initially it felt cooler than what I remember but that memory could be from warmer times. I swear it used to be so hot that I could fry bacon. It's plenty hot now and my memory is probably being selective.
As far as differing temps, I assumed this is because there is laminar flow coming through the core. The passenger side is getting warmed from the cooler side of the core. Not enough mixing going on to equalize the temperatures. I think the key is how cold the cold side is and in my case it was genuinely uncomfortable driving around with a coat and gloves on when it was -10F outside. The comment about the defroster not working seemed to get their attention the best, as it should.

When they/you tested those outlet temperatures, how cold was it outside? Also, how long was the heat blowing? Those are very good temperatures. As I mentioned, my 04 Civic only blew air temps about 130ish at full blast (but 130ish out of all the vents, temp distribution was pretty even). It makes sense the center vents blow warmer because its a shorter run from the core to the vent outlet.

Both are 2015 DE models. Mine is a 5 speed and hers is a CVT ... Both have 33,000 to 35,000 miles on them. The only difference in driving conditions is that I do a lot of the highway (vacation) driving. We've done some long traveling in my car: Chicago to Florida, Chicago to New Orleans, Chicago to North Carolina then Pittsburgh and back.
