    Mitsubishi's US plans for the future released; including the Mirage

    Edmunds.com posted an article today focusing on Mitsubishi's future products after an interview with Don Swearingen, Mitsubishi North America's executive vice president of sales. Mitsubishi is not intending to leave American shores and is making huge investments in the research and development of new vehicles. Upcoming models include a redesigned Outlander Sport and possibly the rebut of the Montero.

    As for the Mirage and it's changes, 2015 will bring turn signal indicators that will be added to the outside mirrors; a shorter antennae will replace the tall antennae on the car's roof; a more premium fabric will be substituted, and chrome accents will be added to the instrument panel. A four-door sedan may join model line.

    The 2016 Mirage receives new sheet metal, giving the car a sleek, aerodynamic appearance.

    Oh, good news!

    Now, I don't know whether to buy the current model, or to wait for the updated 2015, or even wait for 2016.

    I think I may hold out for the 2015; those little updates will help the car feel a little more refined, but I really, really, really hope Mitsubishi sorts out the soft suspension and handling given all of the complaints that it has garnered

    Handling is a $200 DIY fix.

    The problem with waiting for a better car is there's always another better one coming next year or just around the corner...

    [QUOTE=MetroMPG;8306]Handling is a $200 DIY fix. QUOTE]

    Hmmm..... that's an awfully optimistic quote! I'm still dying to rent a Mirage and take it on a windy, canyon road. If I like the car otherwise, but the handling is as bad as they say it is, I may have to look into that $200 option to fix it. You've sparked my interest Darin

    About time they did something with the Montero.

    Wondering what the new Mirage will look like.

    What 200$ handling upgrade?
