EDIT: I tracked down the Japanese owner's manual for the Mirage, and it states that oil viscosity should be chosen based on outside ambient temperatures.
Here are the Japanese recommended oils:
ILSAC GF-5/API SN oils 0w-20, 5w-20, 5w-30, and 10w-30
API SL/CF oil 10w-30
(SM was NOT mentioned!)
Notes:
10w-30 recommended for outdoor ambient temperatures no less than -20C/-4F to 40C/104F or higher.
0w-20, 5w-20, 5w-30 recommended for less than -30C/-22F to 40C/104F or higher.
0w-20 gives the best fuel economy.

** Castrol Germany recommends 0w-40 primarily, and 10W-60, 0w-30, 5w-40 as other options.
** Fuchs Europe recommends 5w-30 and 0w-20.
** Castrol UK recommends 5w-30 primarily, 0w-20 (-35c to 50c), 10w-40 (-25c to 50c), 15w-50 (-15c to 50c), and 20w-50 (-10c to 50c)
** Shell UK recommends 5w-30 (12 month/12,500 mile OCI max w/Shell Helix Ultra)
** Mobil UK/Ireland recommends 0w-40 (Alternative recommendations: -35°C to 50°C, 0W-20; -25°C to 50°C, 10W-40; -15°C to 50°C, 15W-50; -10°C to 50°C, 20W-50), (12mo/20,000 mile OCI max)
** Eni Italy recommends 5w-40 in addition to 0w-30 and 5w-30 for Italy.
** Q8 Oils (Middle East?) recommends 5w-40, 0w-20, 0w-30, 5w-30, 10w-40, and 10w-50.
** Smart Europe (multiple countries) owners' manual recommends 10w-30 for the forFour 55kW/1.1 engine (similar 3A91 engine as Mirage? (3A92))
** Havoline Europe recommends 15W-40, and Mobil Europe recommends 0w-40, for the Smart forFour 1.1.
** Lukoil Europe recommends 5w-30, 5w-40, 10w-40, and 15w-40 for the Smart forFour 1.1
