Aftermarket CVT fluid - Would you use it?

I am at 45 000 km, so I will be here in another 3 k. Does anyone have experience yet? Want to do this as cheap as possible. Student budgets never end~~~

(side note, anyone know anyone in southern ontario that would be cheap to do the actual deed?)

You can find CVT fluid for cheap, but I don't know if its okay to use. This stuff is available in canada for 9.5 CAD

Unless it's certified for Mitsubishi specs I'd steer clear. The manual page 9-9 gives this information:


Oil type

Use only “Mitsubishi Motors GenuineCVTF-J4” transmission fluid to ensure optimum transmission performance.


CAUTION


Using the improper transaxle fluid may damage the transaxle.
