UK: New Car Reviews: Mitsubishi Mirage City Car (watchmywallet.co.uk)

    Pros:
    - "It's a cheeky looking little car and the (optional) rear spoiler gives it a sporty look."
    - Fun to drive
    - Very practical

    Cons:
    - Soft suspension and handling
    - Poorly insulated wiring connectors under the bonnet (this is the first I've heard of this, they have a small picture in the article, but I don't see anything obviously wrong)

It's very interesting the reviewer noted the "exposed" wiring under the hood considering the recent Australian recall for essentially the same issue - "Insufficient water proofing of the sensor harness": Australian Recall - Mirages manufactured prior to 26th Jan 2013 (wheel speed sensors)

Not to get too far away from the Mirage, but it's interesting he also mentions the Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost as a competitor, which is another car we're supposed to be getting this fall, and I've been hoping to test drive. Ford promised it would get better combined fuel economy than ANY non-hybrid on the market (currently the Scion iQ at 37 mpg) which seems a tall order considering it's size and over 120 horsepower.

Yeah, it just doesn't make sense that the Fiesta (heavier, less aerodynamic, way more powerful) could beat the Mirage's rating. I'd put money on that.

Obviously the Mirage wasn't on the Market at that point. Or the new Nissan Versa. I talked to a Ford guy yesterday, and he said the 1.0 is not coming until the Spring, if at all.
