Yes, I agree. My concern, however, is that you do no not get the full 360 degree pattern in halogens.
Halogen high beam >>
With single side LED's, you get only 180 degree beam on the horizontal plane.
I think that cap is used as a shield to prevent glare to oncoming motorists.
OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Headlight, with LED on two sides, has some positive reviews.

I will try to make a picture of the beam. If there's any loss it is not detectable; Perhaps it is directly above?

How are your LED bulbs working out now that you've had them a while cyclopathic? Got any pics of before/after beam patterns?

How do the cooling fans get powered on LED headlights? I've been researching LED headlights for some time, and this part still escapes me. I'm kind of surprised they even need them.
And is there some reference number on the Amazon part listed that can help us find appropriate bulbs on other websites? I don't recall any other posts about LED headlights on this forum complaining about the direction of the beam.
LED fans are powered by 12v from headlight the same harness connector as bulb. LED runs at 35v, so fans cool invertors and help to prevent SMDs from overheating. If you wonder why they needed read this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-emitting_diode good luck.

Which are better? the ones with the big heatsink at the back or with fans? I'm having doubts with the ones with fans coz if the fan suddenly stopped, the diode's would just quickly die from the heat?
