Superbrightleds.com also has one with a switch. I just opted for no switch. I can switch it on with the factory dime light. That's good enough for me.
I don't remember the polarity of the dome light. The polarity does matter on the new led. If it doesn't work, switch your wires and give it another try. That's how I ended up doing it.
if i connect 1 dome at the back and connect footlight direct to that as well can it handle the power for the dome and led lights for the footlights? should there be anything added to avoid short or may cause fire?

There should be a fuse in the dome light circuit to prevent damage to the circuit from factory. Using LED's I don't see the putting very much load on the circuit. If you end up doing something terribly wrong like creating a short the fuse should burn out and you'll have to track down your mistake then replace the fuse.
