Smell inside cabin when starting? (odour like fuel when very cold)

Have anyone experienced really low temperature already?
    -10 F
    -25 C

These past two days it was really cold and when I started my car, the smell was unbearable inside the cabin, seemed like fuel or even diesel-like smell.

    Anyone else?

I tried it a few times, but it was not freezing, and the smell disappeared just after the start.
So I'm not sure that it's the same issue you had. ?

I wonder if you are smelling the PTC heater with maybe some dust, lint or whatever debris that might be sitting on it burning off.

It is an electric heater grid sitting right next to the heater core.

Comes on with any fan speed and any heater setting other than full cold with some temperature criteria that I can't remember what exactly it is.

Helping in getting the airflow (and possibly coolant)warm up quicker. The end of it where the hefty wires are going to it are visible when the glove box door is opened past it's stops and one looks behind on the left side of the glove box door.

That's all I can think of without knowing more of the details.

It was not just me noticing the bad smell during cold start ups. Anyway after the ECU remapping for the recall, my car is better now.

I noticed this on mine on start with below-freezing outdoor air temperatures, and attributed it to the new electric heater burning off whatever oils & dirt.
