Perhaps something that could be somewhat easily detached / disengaged in more temperate climates, as it's cold here in NS usually -10 C or so in the winter, but not *crazy* cold like it is in Northern Ontario / Quebec or the Prairies (or the US Midwest).
Those places get like Mars cold, it's kind of wild. -51? Pfft, Tuesday.
Yah, so true! When my Grandfather settled in Saskatchewan for the "free land" with his sister & BIL one winter in a sod shack middle of the prairie was enough for sis and the better half, they told him "you're nuts, we're going back home!"
